FEATURED SPEAKER

We are excited to announce that Chief Leadership will be joining us at the CodeComply Summit 2026 this July to provide specialized training as part of our Officer Safety and Wellness Track.

Chief Leadership is a consulting organization made up of executive command professionals from law enforcement agencies across the country, including chiefs of police and command staff. Their team brings decades of real-world experience in public safety, leadership, and field communication, and they are adapting proven law enforcement techniques specifically for the challenges faced by code enforcement professionals.

During the Summit, Chief Leadership will be presenting several important courses designed to help officers safely and effectively manage public interactions in the field:

Effective Field Communication Techniques & Using Emotional Intelligence: This course focuses on practical communication strategies that help code enforcement professionals manage public interactions, reduce conflict, and improve cooperation. Attendees will learn how tone, situational awareness, emotional control, and communication style can influence safety and compliance during encounters.

Conflict Management and Resolution: Conflict is a routine part of code enforcement work. This course teaches officers how to recognize escalating behavior, communicate under pressure, and respond strategically to difficult situations. Participants will learn proven methods for managing conflict while maintaining professionalism and control.

Empowerment Through Empathy: This session explores how empathy, active listening, and emotional awareness can be used as practical field tools. Officers will learn how building trust and understanding with the public can reduce resistance, strengthen officer presence, and improve outcomes during challenging interactions.

Techniques of De-escalation: This course provides field-ready strategies for identifying risk, slowing escalation, and maintaining control during tense encounters. Attendees will learn how to read verbal and nonverbal cues, control tone and presence, create time and distance, and guide interactions toward safer outcomes.

These trainings bring proven leadership and officer safety strategies from law enforcement into the code enforcement environment, helping professionals strengthen safety, professionalism, and effectiveness in the field.

We look forward to welcoming you to CodeComply Summit 2026 and providing valuable training opportunities that support code enforcement professionals across the country.

Code Enforcement

The CodeComply Summit is officially coming back, and we couldn’t be more proud to share that we’re returning to the Hyatt Regency Orange County. What started as an idea to bring code professionals together has grown into a true community, and this year we’re building on that foundation in a big way. We are continuing to build this year's program.

We’re inviting code enforcement officers, building officials, planners, managers, and partners from all over California and across the country to join us for a few days of real-world education, honest conversations, and meaningful connections. As a volunteer, it’s been incredible to watch this summit create new friendships, new career paths, and new ideas for better, safer communities and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Orange County to keep that momentum going.
